Time to Choose Again!

It's time to choose the next book! Lilian has very kindly put together a list for us, this time of recent Canadian fiction. So, let's finish up voting by Wednesday of next week (August 3rd) and have our discussion beginning on September 30th. That should give everyone time to read and post on the book. As always, anyone is welcome to join the group! All you have to do is read the book and participate in the discussion on your blog and/or on the discussion board.

Vote in the comments!

Since it's not my list, I can vote, so I vote for Three Day Road. Looking forward to seeing what others think!

Thanks Lilian--great list! I think I also will vote for Three Day Road--am interested in that era and have never read a story about WWI from that perspective before--sounds interesting!

I know it would put me behind the eight ball since I couldn't get the book before 9/6, but I like The Golden Mean.

My second choice would be Three Day Road.

The Golden Mean would be my choice (although ordering it from the states means I would not have long to read it). Otherwise it would have to be the Lawrence Hill as I do own a copy of that.

I vote for the Louis Riel biography. It's different and gets great reviews. From Publisher's Weekly: "Brown's exploration of the life of a [...] 19th-century Canadian revolutionary Riel is a strong contender for the best graphic novel ever."

Wonderful list! It is always so hard to choose. I cast my vote for The Golden Mean but will gladly read any of them.

Litlove -- it's already available in paper in the UK, and I believe in Canada too. It's just in the U.S. that it comes out in paper later. So you will be ahead of us!

There are a lot of used copies of The Golden Mean available; I know, I just ordered one!

I'd be happy with either that or Three Day Road, which I can get from the library.

I vote for Lullaby for Little Criminals -- How can you not love that title?

I'll put in my vote for Lullabies for Little Criminals, though Three Day Road is a close second.

Great choices! I'll vote for The Golden Mean first followed by Lullabies for Little Criminals.
